Enjoying a Night "In" On A Cold Wisconsin Night

It’s Friday night. You’re ready to let your hair down and unwind from another crazy work week. Great! There’s only one problem…it’s cold out. Not just chilly or cool – we’re talking COLD. (This is Wisconsin, after all!)

The freezing temperatures are sure to put a damper on any downtown barhopping plans. The roads are too slick for your DD and you’re definitely not bundling up and making the commute on foot!

Is this to be a precious Friday night wasted? Of course not! Follow these guidelines to make the most out of your night in:

1.      Change into something comfortable

You’re staying home…no need to dress to impress! Kick off those shoes and slide into some leggings and cozy socks. If you’re feeling it, throw on an old hoodie and put your hair up in a bun. When you’re in, there’s no one to judge!

2.      Set the mood

Next, make your living room a bit more relaxing. Dim the lights. Light a crackling fire (a candle will do for those of us without our own fireplaces). Put on some music, and find your fuzziest blanket. Feeling more rejuvenated already? That’s what we thought.

3.      Gather your flock

While it might be too cold to travel to the bars, it’s never too chilly to invite some friends over! Don’t go out into the neighborhood — bring the neighborhood to you! Chances are, they’re looking for a fun way to spend the frigid night as well!

4.      Raise your spirits

Now comes the fun part…cocktails!

Gather your bottles of Northern Oasis Spirits and get to mixing.

What’s on the menu? Maybe it’s a Riverbank Refresher, warm apple cider spiked with Lone Duck Cinnamon Whiskey, or a simple Lakeview Vodka and club soda.

Whatever your drink of choice is, we’ve got the spirits that are sure to raise yours!

P.S. – check out our website for plenty of classic and seasonal cocktail recipes!

Well, it’s the end of the night. You’ve spent hours relaxing, conversing with friends, and enjoying some great cocktails by a warm fire (or at least by candlelight). It really makes you wonder why you were so bummed about the freezing weather in the first place!

After all, no bars = no problem…as long as you’ve got some cozy socks, good company, and great liquor!
