Warm Up This Winter with a Wisconsin Cocktail
While we all look forward to a slightly more temperate March - and hopefully a snow-melting April - first we have a chilly February to get through. The days are short, the nights are long, and we have some upcoming single (and negative) digits to weather.
No better way to warm your bones than with a hot Wisconsin cocktail!
We firmly believe there is no wrong season for a refreshing wake-up-warm-up chilled shot of Lone Duck Cinnamon Whiskey. But how about some nice warm drinks that flush your cheeks and reach all the way down into your thick wool socks?
Fire up the stove and grab your mulling spice—it’s time for a:
Lone Duck Winter Espresso Punch
· 8 oz. Lone Duck Cinnamon Whiskey
· 1 bottle dry red wine (Merlot/Cabernet/Pinot Noir)
· 2 lemon peels
· 5 oz. mulling spice
Bring Northern Oasis Lone Duck Cinnamon Whiskey, bottle of wine, lemon peels, and Mulling Spice to a boil. Simmer until highly fragrant or to taste. Strain and serve immediately. Garnish with a cinnamon stick or orange peel. For best results, lightly toast Mulling Spice prior to adding to the pot. Thanks to Copper & Pines Cocktail Co. for this delicious recipe!
Nothing warms up a winter night like hot apple cider. And nothing warms up hot apple cider like Shorewood Whiskey! Settle in by the fire as quickly as possible with a drink that takes ten seconds to make:
Spiked Apple Cider
· Add 1½ oz. Shorewood Whiskey to a mug of Hot Apple Cider
That’s it! All you have to do is get comfy and enjoy your drink. Though, if you have a couple hours to plan and a taste for rich hot chocolate, you gotta try:
Crystal's Lone Duck Hot Cocoa
· 2 Cups Heavy Whipping Cream
· 1 can (14 oz.) Sweetened Condensed Milk
· 4 Cups 2% Milk
· 1 tsp. Vanilla
· 1 bag Milk Chocolate Chips
· 3 oz. Lone Duck Cinnamon Whiskey
Simmer in a slow cooker for 2 hours, stirring occasionally; garnish with whipped cream, chocolate drizzle, and a cinnamon stick.
You can also make it non-alcoholic and add a shot of Lone Duck before serving it to those who want a little extra kick. Thanks to Crystal R for the recipe!
